Hey, I’m glad you’re here! So, it turns out it’s real weird to write about yourself. What to say…. I’m a therapist, a mom, wife, daughter, and sister. I grew up in Minnesota and, in all my adolescent wisdom, moved to California for college because I was “not going to walk to class in the snow.” Thank goodness I had understanding and patient parents!
In middle school it became my dream to be a therapist and I’ve worked hard toward and at that goal ever since. In all seriousness, I absolutely love what I do and consider myself very lucky to be able to go to work each day with purpose and passion. I am forever humbled by the strength and bravery of my clients. It takes a whole lot to walk into a new place and tell a complete stranger all your “stuff”.
I got my undergraduate degree at the University of California, Irvine where I heard every variation of “you can’t do much with a Psychology degree”. Look at me now folks! I kid, I kid. I then went on to earn my Masters from Alliant International University’s California School of Professional Psychology. After grad school I leaned strongly towards CBT. However, I felt like there was something deeper I needed to tap into. I began to use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and, from there, started studying Mindfulness. And that is where I am now. Loving my journey into Mindful Practices, letting it happen, and seeing where it takes me and my clients!
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me, I hope I get to know you too!
